Artist Statement:

When I draw an animal, I'm thinking about the emotional connection. Whether it's love for a beloved pet, joy and excitement from meeting your favorite animal, or the awe inspiring event of coming face to face with an enormous whale or a scary snake. I approach my artwork as an opportunity to share that connection.

I live and work in Lake Zurich, IL. In my spare time I like to go for walks, write and edit my science fiction stories, play word games, and watch YouTube videos that expand my knowledge. I've been playing the cello since I was 9 years old. I don't remember what first drew me to the instrument, but I'm glad it's still a part of my life.

At the same age, I began riding horses. I took lessons for twenty years going back and forth between English, Western, and jumping. I worked as a barn supervisor for a few years and a riding instructor at a therapeutic riding facility. I will always have a special place in my heart for horses.
